現地時間の11月22日（火）、「ゴールデンジョイスティックアワード 2022」の受賞作品が発表された。同アワードのアルティメット・ゲーム・オブ・ザ・イヤーにはフロム・ソフトウェアの『エルデンリング』が選出されている。

「ゴールデンジョイスティックアワード」は1983年より続く、歴史と権威あるイギリスのゲームアワード。10月8日（土）にノミネート作品が公開された。
『エルデンリング』はアルティメット・ゲーム・オブ・ザ・イヤーのほかにも「ベスト・ビジュアルデザイン」など3部門で受賞に輝き、また開発元のフロム・ソフトウェアは「スタジオ・オブ・ザ・イヤー」に選出されている。今後に控える「The Game Awards」などの発表に先駆け、早くも2022年を代表するタイトルとして存在感を見せつけた形だ。
また「もっとも望まれるゲーム」（Most Wanted Game）の枠には『ゼルダの伝説 ティアーズ オブ ザ キングダム』が輝いた。2023年5月12日（金）の発売に向け、大いに期待の高まりを感じさせる結果と言えるだろう。なお「Nintendo Game of the Year」には『Pokémon LEGENDS アルセウス』が選ばれている。
